Laserre Lobby Box

Competition | Renovation

Date: 2007
Location: Lasserre Building, UBC, Vancouver
WINNER of the design.build.display competition

Description:
We won this competition to design an intervention for seating and display space in the lobby of the architecture building at the University of British Columbia intended for use by all the departments that use this building.

The winning design was based on an idea about the ubiquitous ‘white box’. The final design fashions the interior of this ‘white box’ as a place of social interaction and the exterior as an impromptu space for display.

in collaboration with Becki Chan and Philippe Lew
